Ramsey Scouts Make Special Delivery to Valley Hospital

The borough girls have been working to collect items to collect since January.

Ramsey Girl Scout Troop #419 successfully completed their Bronze Award Project at the end of April, culminating with a trip to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood to deliver several boxes and bags of donated toys, books, craft supplies and fleece blankets that they made themselves to the patients in the Pediatric unit, as well as the pediatric emergency area.

The troop started planning in January, put together donation boxes, made a presentation at their school, placed boxes in various locations in town and collected donations as they came in. A few of the girls in the troop shared the following:

"What I liked best about achieving the Bronze Award was the feeling of accomplishment, and that I could go out and reach my goals."  -Carolyn C.

"I enjoyed helping kids at the hospital. It felt good knowing that I helped make someone happy!"  -Ava S.

"My favorite part was going to the hospital and dropping off the donations.  It felt good to see all the people we were going to help."  -Jennifer F.

"What I liked best about achieving my Bronze Award was that the troop got to learn more about helping the community and teamwork, because it takes a long time of planning and fixing and helping each other. Teamwork comes into play because without each other the troop could never have done this project."  -Alexa A.
