Lions Club Celebrates Connection to Camp for the Blind

An annual event brought local Lions together with the blind kids and teens their group helps support.

The Saddle River Valley Lions Clubrecently held a BBQ to celebrate its longtime connection to Camp Marcella, a camp in Rockaway that serves blind, visually-impaired, and special needs kids and teens.

Members of the Lions Club from Mahwah, Ramsey, Allendale, Saddle River, and Upper Saddle River, met up with the campers and staff for the annual celebration, according to a release from the club.

The club has been supporting the camp with both monetary donations and volunteer physical labor to keep up its facilities since the camp was initially established in 1947. Lions work to keep up the fully adapted 23-building, 200-acre campus.
