Ramsey Named Top Town for 'Social Seekers'

The borough ranked among the top 50 socially-friendly towns in the state in a new survey, but it was outranked by several other Bergen county towns.

Ramsey has been named one of the top 50 towns for “social seekers” in the state by a new Coldwell Banker survey.

The real estate agency ranked towns and cities across the country based on several characteristics, including:

  • Access to public transportation
  • Frequent Restaurant goers
  • Frequent Coffee Shop goers
  • Many restaurant options
  • Multi-cultural food options
  • Median disposable income
  • Safety
  • High number of college grads
  • Many nightlife options
  • Lifestyle - Trendy focus
  • Proximity to cultural activities, museums, music, wineries, etc.
  • Urban Living
  • Large variety of living options: rentals, condos, co-ops, etc.
  • Many entertainment events
  • Many employment opportunities

Towns were given scores out of a possible 1,000 points. Ramsey scored a 562.31 making the borough the 47th highest "social seeker" town in the state.

With 839.48 points, Hoboken received the highest score in the state, and 10 Bergen County towns made it into the real estate agency's Top 25 list.

The rankings were part of Coldwell Banker’s annual ‘Best Places to Live’ series, which ranks towns nationally, and by state. No towns from New Jersey made the national Top Ten Social Seeker list, which was topped by Manhattan, NY.
