Republicans Sweep Ramsey Council Elections

Incumbents win by a sizable margin

Republican councilmembers Deirdre Dillon and William Jones easily won reelection to their third terms of the council Tuesday, according to unofficial results counted by borough hall Tuesday.

The duo beat out Democratic challengers Lou Moore and Kelly Van Horn.

Abour 67.4% of Ramsey's 10,333 registered voters turned out to vote in the election.

Dillon was the highest vote-getter of the group. Jones was the second highest. He beat out the third highest, Van Horn, by over 1,000 votes.

Joe Verdone also won a seat on the council Tuesday. Verdone was running to fill the two-year unexpired term he was appointed to in August. Though his opponent, Scott Stahlmann, withdrew from the race last month, he received over 2,000 votes.
