Cops: Men Carrying Molly, Bricks of Heroin Arrested on Route 17

Paterson duo was initially pulled over for speeding, police say.

A pair of Paterson men speeding along Route 17 were pulled over and arrested after cops say they found Molly and three bricks of heroin in their car.

Ramsey Police pulled the men over on Route 17 north in Mahwah after officers noticed them speeding near the KFC in Ramsey Monday night, borough Police Chief Bryan Gurney announced in a release Tuesday.

According to Gurney, officers noticed several cell phones and air fresheners in the car, as well as several other indicators that prompted them to get permission to search the car, Gurney said.

Inside, they found a large bag containing baggies of a “tan and white colored rock crystal substance, and multiple wax/glassine bags that were stamped with a logo,” Gurney said in the release. The substance was identified as MDMA, or “Molly,” police said.

They also found three bricks, or about 150 wax bags, of heroin, Gurney said.
