Civil War Living History Weekend at Long Pond Ironworks
Join the Friends of Long Pond Ironworks (FOLPI) and the 6th New Hampshire Volunteers on September 6-7, 2014, for the annual Civil War Living History Weekend at Long Pond Ironworks. This year's program will provide hourly camp life and military demonstrations by Union reenactors.
The 6th New Hampshire Volunteers, the co-hosts of the Civil War Weekend's co-host, are one of the only regiments to have fought in all theaters of the Civil War and returned with their original regimental colors. The Union camp will be open for visitors to tour; the reenactors will give ongoing demonstrations of military drills, a day in the life of a soldier, and talks on various aspects of the war and soldering throughout the weekend.
The Civil War Living History Weekend is open to the public Saturday, September 6, 11 am-5 pm, and Sunday, September 7, 10 am-3 pm.
Admission is by suggested donation of $5 per adult and $1 per child. All proceeds go toward restoration and interpretation at Long Pond Ironworks. FOLPI volunteers will be available throughout the weekend to provide tours of the Historic District.
The Friends of Long Pond Ironworks, Inc. (FOLPI) is a nonprofit (501[c][3]) volunteer organization working in cooperation with the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry to preserve, restore, and interpret the Long Pond Ironworks Historic District.
