Candle Lantern Tour at Long Pond Ironworks

On Saturday evening, September 6, the Friends of Long Pond Ironworks will offer a guided Candle Lantern Tour through the Historic District, giving tourists a rare glimpse of village life and Civil War military camps at night.

The tour will culminate with entertainment at the historic blast furnace area by the musicians of the 6th New Hampshire Volunteers as they perform period nineteenth-century music. The Musical Minstrels encourage the audience to join them in celebrating America’s musical heritage.

The tour will be begin promptly at 8:30 pm. Advance registration is required, as space is limited. Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child (age 12-18). Children under 12 are not permitted on this tour.

To make a reservation, leave your name, number and type of tickets, and telephone number on the FOLPI Information Line at (973) 657-1688. Reservations are first come, first served, and we will confirm your reservation by return call.

This project is funded, in part, by the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council of Passaic County Community College, made possible, in part, by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.
