Win a Smashburger Wedding in Vegas

If you’re in love AND love burgers – listen up! Smashburger is giving one lucky couple the opportunity to get married in Las Vegas on the auspicious date of 11/12/13. Couples are encouraged to create a Vine video showing their love for burgers AND each other with the hashtag #SmashWedding. (Entrants must then publish their posts to www.Facebook.com/Smashburger or Twitter @Smashburger.) That’s when they’ll be entered to win airfare for two, a real wedding officiated by “Elvis” at Smashburger in Las Vegas, as well as hotel accommodations and tickets to the elaborate retro-glam showgirl extravaganza, “Jubilee!” provided by Bally’s Las Vegas.

Everyone knows Las Vegas is the wedding capital of the world and “magic dates,” such as those with repeating (12/12/12) or consecutive (11/12/13) numbers, are extremely popular for weddings. According to David’s Bridal, more than 7,500 U.S. couples wed on 12/12/12, compared to just 485 in 2011. In addition, a survey by TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com shows that casual weddings are on the rise; nuptials described as “casual” climbed 30 percent between 2009 and 2011.

“With 11/12/13 set to be one of the last ‘magic dates’ on the calendar this century, and with more people than ever opting for casual weddings, we knew we had to have some fun on social media and celebrate people’s love of burgers,” says Stacie Lange, senior vice president of public relations, Smashburger. “We are celebrating love in a big way this year because Smashburger is a place for all occasions- and date night is certainly one of them.”

• Wedding officiated by an Elvis impersonator at a Smashburger location in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at 10 a.m.

• Ceremonial “smash” of a Smashburger in the kitchen by the couple.

Smashburger is currently accepting video entries published to Smashburger’s Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #SmashWedding for this contest. Submissions will be accepted until 11:59:59 PST on Friday, Oct. 25th. The winning couple will be notified by Friday, Nov. 1. Both the bride and groom must be at least 21 years old.
